I had every intention of alternating between Caffeine and Octane and Worship for the first Sunday meet each month, but something told me to make it to Worship and I’m glad I did. The weather was decently warm and people came out in numbers bringing with them a wide array of eye candy.
Each month it seems like there’s more and more to look at while at Worship and the variety spans wider and wider which does mean that sometimes you’re going to get some overflow that doesn’t necessarily fit the 18-year or older requests that they have for cars, but it also means that often times people bring out cars with racing provenance, or the non-kit version of cars that you’ve only ever seen kit cars of, or sometimes cars you didn’t even know existed. This month included one of those cars for me, a Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. And not just any 904, but one that had raced at Sebring. I, along with a slew of other folks, watched as the car looped the rows of the lot waiting to see where it parked and then headed over, ensuring we would get the chance to see it should they decide not to stay. If you’re familiar with Local Car Magazine and think this car looks familiar, it should, this car is the fantastic cover art painted by Larry Gardinier for issue 42, March-April 2025. For me, there’s often times a favorite from a meet, and a lot of the time it’s not the same as everyone else’s favorite. But I think few would argue that this car wasn’t it from this month.
That’s absolutely not to say there weren’t a ton of other great pieces of eye candy, because there were and you’ll see that reflected in the photos below, including a 918 Spyder, a his and hers set of Nissan Stageas, a Mini that took a piece of my heart and so many others. I’m looking forward to what continues to show up each month, and maybe it’s okay if I miss Caffeine and Octane most months, because some seriously cool things show up at Worship, and if you’re not there to see it, you may never have the chance again.
Also, shocking no one, there were dogs. And I took their photos.
