We risked the chance of rain to make it out to the 4th iteration of Slurp and Speed, back after a hiatus in April, and while I know we missed some folks who left before we could get there, it was still a great turn out. Each time we make it to this meet I talk about how great the food is, and this visit hasn’t changed my opinion at all. Everything we try we both feel is well balanced and full of flavor and the service is always attentive and friendly. We get the same drinks each time, I’m in love with the iced green tea and I think we could stock the fridge with the sparkling yuzu drink and my husband would be a very happy camper.

After we stuffed our faces we mingled with some old friends and new. Then the wind kicked up, and I quickly realized I had not shot anything other than our food and a few cars, so I set about trying to capture as many cars as I possibly could before the inevitable drenching rain began. Like always there was a large showing of Lexus options, ranging from the new GX to a full Pandem kit fitted to an RC, but there were also some fun older Hondas, a widebody FD and a very well known Skyline, not to mention Sean’s classic Mustang available for viewing. Unfortunately while I was still working my way through the rain did start, initially just a light shower of thick fat raindrops, but quickly turning into a full out downpour, which if you’re familiar with the weather in Georgia, is par for the course.

Most folks had already headed out as the rain was just beginning its threat to put a damper on the evening, but a few folks were still hanging around so I was able to snap a few photos of the rain as it poured down around us, which have been fun to edit as I work through the shots from the evening. We didn’t linger long after the rain set in with no sign of slowing, but as I always say, we will be back for this meet again as many times as our schedules allow. If you’re free for the next one (the date has not yet been announced, so watch Facebook and Instagram for details) come by, grab some fantastic dinner and hang out with some great folks. And if you’re not able to make it, but want to give the ramen a try, Kin No Tori is open 7 days a week (https://alpharetta.kinnotori.com/) providing fantastic meals.
